What is spot color and spot color printing?
A spot color is a color that is printed with a specific ink, rather than a combination of C, m, Y, and K. Spot-color inks are pre-mixed by the printing press or produced by the INK factory. For each specific color of the printed matter, there is a special color plate corresponding to the printing.
Using spot colors can make colors more accurate. Although a color can not be accurately represented on a computer, the exact color of the color on paper can be seen on a pre-printed sample card from a standard color-matching system, such as Pantone, which creates a very detailed sample card.
For the design of non-standard special color, the printing house is not necessarily accurate deployment, and on the screen can not see the exact color, so if not special needs do not easily use their own definition of spot color.
